Join Christina Newman and Guest teachers as you pursue deeper learning and studies in the field of yoga, philosophy, anatomy, teaching skills, mediation, Ayurveda, and the lineage of yogic wisdom in this sacred 10-month program. The course offers two modules each of 100 training hours that cover a variety of topics that bring the student to a stronger and more confident understanding of their yoga practice. For the student seeking to teach yoga, these modules when combined, will meet the requirements of a certified 200-hour yoga teacher-training program. Whether the intention is to learn more about you or to receive a certification. This summer intensive will set a foundation for the yoga practitioner, that leads to an incredible transformation, wisdom, and a deeper love of yoga.


Module One: Embodiment and Anchoring ~100 hours

This module of training focuses on the training and development of the foundations within yoga, this includes philosophy and lineage of yoga traditions. Gaining a sound knowledge of the basic asanas, alignment of main postures, and breathing techniques supports a strong learning foundation for students and potential teachers. Topics Covered: · Foundation and Form for Basic Poses · Pronunciation for Most Common Postures · Sequencing Basics · Introduction to Yoga Mythology · The Yoga Sutras (the beginning) · Yogic Breathing-Pranayama · Meditation for personal practice or beginners · The History of Flow~ the evolution of Yoga · Sacred Wisdom- principles of yoga, Tantra, and Seva (service) · Dharma, Sandha, and Sankalpa · Mudras and Badhas- the postures of the hands and energy control · More valuable topics throughout the training.


Module Two: Transformation and Inspiration ~100 hours

This module continues the learning from module one with an additional emphasis on taking the student deeper into the progressions of the postures as well as stronger explorations into the students physical, energetic, and spiritual well being. In this module there is strong alignment to the practical tools that support daily life through yoga and mediation as well as inspiring others along a path of health and well being. Topics Covered: · Deepening the personal practice- developing intention and personal mediations · Functional anatomy · Biomechanics of common asanas for beginners · Being Heard: verbal cueing and voice opening for effective teaching or guiding · Mantra and Chant to connect the rich past of yoga to today · Universal ethics: the foundation based on the Yoga Sutra writings · Daily Healing Rituals- an introduction to Ayurveda · Creating a class and classroom organization · Hands on adjustments and enhancements · Yoga for specific needs: using props and modifications · The Business of Yoga · Foundation and Form of a Vinyasa Flow Class · Direct Feedback: Participating in peer groups, teaching labs, and receiving lead teacher assistance.
